Phew.
NOW this is my last piece of work 'till I'm officially done school Wednesday. I've done my Art exam already, which was today, and I think I did A-Okay, thanks if you were going to ask. 8D

I've been working on this one for a loooong time, since I wanted it done the best I could do before I went to study. No speeding, goodness. This is for =Tajii-chan's "Black + White vs. Colour!" contest. You are to decide to draw who would win between the two.

I went along a thin line between the two, in a sort of balance, yet not. :3 Lemme explain;

With the black/white concept I always think of death, which is the end of the line for life. However, reason that I didn't have Black and White as elderly people is because I wasn't looking for age, but experience. Compared to a child, a grown adult has experienced far more and knows much more about the world. I wanted them to be appealing so I had them as young adults.

As for Colour, obviously I see it as a baby. Young, new, pure, and full of possibilities and talents to shine. However, it's unexperienced, and that, in a way, makes Black + White dominant over it. So it's kind of like a pros/cons sort of thing. Altogether, they live in harmony, like a family.

Coming off from that, you can say that Black and White are Colour's parents. Yes, you can argue that "But Black + White = Grey! Duh!", but I'm not talking about technical mixing and sexual reproduction. Black is the absence of colour and white is the presence of all colour, so I went with that.

Black's wings are screwed in shape, I know. They work in a way. I have a much better style of it in one of my doodles, but I feel as if I should leave the wings alone here. What's done is done... Also, the wings are just there to verify who's who for you.

So, in conclusion, what do I think when in terms to Tajii's contest?

Colour has a lot more possibilities, opportunities, and talents to offer than Black and White, but without their guidance, Colour can't be the best it can be.

(You can't create a detailed painting with only the pure hues of the colour wheel! You need shades and tints! You need black and white! )

I'm pretty proud of the idea; when I read Tajii's journal on the contest I had an epiphany. I hope it came out okay. Hope you like it!
